Rosemary Trone Obituary

Rosemary Trone, 63, of San Diego, passed away on September 26, 2024 due to complications from cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, James Trone CAPT MC, USN (Retired). Survivors include her partner of 35 years, Matthew Evans; her mother, Margaret Trone of Bethesda, Md., and five siblings: James Jr. of Laurel, Md, Daniel (Denise) of San Diego, Alice of Bethesda, Md., Carole (John Johnson) of Madison, Wis. and George Andrew (An-Me Chung) of Chicago; an aunt and several cousins. Rosie was an actively involved aunt for her nine nieces and nephews: Maggie, Clare, Emma, Lizzie, Dominic, GianPaolo, Will, Marco and Matteo. Rosie always said she had the best job ever as a nanny for her San Diego nephews. Rosie was born in North Carolina and spent her early childhood in San Diego before moving to Bethesda, Md, where she graduated from Montgomery College in 1981. After college, Rosie returned to San Diego. Rosie was a diehard Padres fan and was so thrilled with this year's season. Rosie enjoyed watching hockey almost as much as her partner, Matt. She loved woodworking and was a longtime member of the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 11:00 am at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church, 3131 Governor Drive in San Diego with visitation held at the church immediately prior to the funeral Mass.
