Dolores Adie, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend, and Jesus follower, of Indianapolis, Indiana (formerly of Athens, Ohio), passed away peacefully Thursday, May 22, 2025 in her sleep at the age of 91.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois March 29, 1934 and attended the North Park College where she became a teacher. She married Douglas K. Adie in 1965 at the Moody Bible Institute and later moved to Athens, Ohio where they had 3 beloved children. While raising her children, she was one of the pioneers of the Athens Christian School.
She had many friends who she loved dearly and always made time for people. She follows her husband, Dr. Doug Adie of Ohio University (2019) in death to be with Jesus.
She is survived by her 3 children, Rebecca (Tony) Keller, Tim (Jen) Adie, and Steve Adie, along with 9 grandchildren, Abigail, Timothy, Emma, Zane, Emily, Annabelle, Peter, Sarah, and John.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 1PM on Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Central Avenue Methodist Church, 73 Central Avenue, Athens, OH 45701, with Paul Risler officiating. Burial will follow in Clarks Chapel Cemetery. You may call upon the family at the church on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 11AM until the start of the service.
