Sandra Kay Dupuy was born on March 20, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. She went to be with her Lord on January 10, 2025. She was the daughter of Cecil and Mary Wills, and was the third of their five children. She grew up on the south side, graduating from both St. Anthony School and later from St. Joseph's Academy. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Sandy spent most of her working life at various financial institutions. Beginning with Earlham Savings Bank, Principal Credit Union, and lastly with The Members Group. She formed friendships everywhere she worked. Many of these lasted throughout her working life and into retirement. She retired to her favorite job, which was being a caregiver for her two youngest grandchildren.
She was a woman of faith and loved being Catholic. Sandy was passionate about sharing her faith with others: especially children. She was a member of Sheppard's Staff, and served several years on the board in addition to teaching in several different parishes. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with children in the atrium, and she counted many of her best friends among her fellow catechists.
Sandy was married to Rick Dupuy, her husband of fifty five years to the day, on January 10, 1970. This marriage was blessed with three children: Aaron (Tera) Dupuy of Des Moines, Adam (Sarah Russett) Dupuy of Iowa City, and Alissa (Mike) Spratt of Waukee. She was also blessed with seven much loved grandchildren (Jakob, Aria, Illa, Abram, Jude, Emily and Connor). She is also survived by her four siblings; Barb Gabriel of Buckeye, Arizona, Jim (Pat) Wills of Cedar Rapids, Joe (Nancy) Wills of Dallas Center, and Maury (Mary) Wills of Adel along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Sandy always felt blessed to have a large extended family and enjoyed all the activity and events that entailed. She will be greatly missed by many.
