SHIRLEY BANKS HILL Obituary
Shirley passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 in Glendale, California. Her family was by her side.
Born on October 18, 1927, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Shirley was the eldest of she and her sister Audrey, born to parents Oscar and Mamie Williams. The family later relocated to New York City. After marrying, Shirley resided on Manhattan's Upper West Side where she lived an amazing life doting on friends and family and fulfilling her passion for teaching, from which she retired in 1985. It was known to all that Shirley continued to live life to the fullest and was a dedicated supporter of all causes committed to enriching the lives of children everywhere in addition to being a champion of rights for Native Americans.
Shirley is preceded in death by her Parents, her Sister Audrey and Husband Casey Hill.
Shirley is survived by her Daughter Tamara Burrell, Granddaughter Robinne Eller as well as other Grandchildren, Great Grandson Philip John Eller III and Niece, Rhonda Beebe.
A Celebration of Shirley's life was held on March 8,2024 in Glendale, California.
