Dear Charlene, family and friends of Tom,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Tom´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS John Marshall SSBN-611 and USS Sabalo SS-302.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Charlene and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
Jim Sandman, FTC(SS) Ret,
National Chaplain, USSVI.

Charlene, Unfortunately we never got to meet Tom or you. We were so looking forward to meeting you both at our daughter Amy and Peter´s marriage this October. I´m sure you and Peter can tell us more about Tom so we can learn about the good man we missed. Our prayers are with you and your family. Mike & Sylvia Jara

We enjoyed having a beer with Mr. Sabol in Pittsburgh. Lots of love and prayers to the Sabol family!

He taught me the value of family, of money, of time management, in that order.
He believed in me all my life, through every up and down. The few times we butted heads are more than outweighed by the times we shared a conversation, a laugh, a beer, or a simple moment of silence.
He was a kind, industrious and generous man. Occasionally stubborn, but always goodwilled, he had a silly side to boot! He was my Dad. His name was Thomas Sabol.
Years from now, when people moving into a house in the Valley come across - inexplicably - 10 wall outlets in their master bedroom, they'll say, "Ah, that's T. Sabol's handy work. Thanks, Tom!"
