Konda Bala Chandra Mouli
On March 11th, 2021, Dr. Konda Bala Chandra Mouli M.D., passed away in Chicago, Illinois. He was 70 years of age. Dr. Mouli is survived by his wife Dr. Padmaja Mouli; his sons Dr. Samdeep Mouli and Pradeep Mouli; their wives Joanna and Manasa and grandson Dev; and siblings Sesha Konda and Shreedar Konda.
Dr. Mouli was born on August 28, 1950 in the Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh, India. His journey in medicine began in 1973, when, at the age of 22, he graduated from Andhra Medical College, 1st in his class.
After graduating, he left home and traveled to the United Kingdom, where he spent 2 years in residency in General Surgery at the District General Hospital in Barnsley, England. During his time there he was honored as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. In 1975, Dr. Mouli moved to Chicago, Illinois where he completed a residency in Urology at Cook County and the University of Illinois Hospitals, again graduating with honors. Dr. Mouli subsequently completed prestigious fellowships in Pediatric Urology at Montreal Children's Hospital and Urologic Oncology at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute, Buffalo, New York. Following his extensive training, he returned to Chicago. Over the next 30 years he specialized in Adult and Pediatric Urology, treating disorders of the kidneys, bladder, and prostate. With his love of learning, he found himself to also be a teacher, a role he would fulfill first as an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Illinois, and then in the lives of his two sons.
In 1987, Dr. Mouli, his wife, and two young children settled down in Adrian. Lenawee County gave the young doctor and his family a new home, career, and purpose in life. In return, he gave it his complete devotion—the totality of his life was dedicated to the care of his new community and adopted home.
Dr. Mouli's life was guided by love; of learning and of service to his family, friends, peers and patients. A celebration of that life has been scheduled for August 28th, 2021 from 2pm to 5pm Dawson Auditorium and all from the community are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lenawee Community Foundation, with whom the Dr. Konda B.C. Mouli Scholarship for Medical Education has been established in his memory.

Dr. Mouli inspired others to go above and beyond to be kind. My Grandmother was a patient of his and she just loved him. Anytime she had an apointment she talked about what an amazing caring person he was.

Dr. Mouli's excellent care gave me another 15 years with my husband Tom. I am so sad to hear of his passing. Please accept my condolences. It is very hard to lose someone you love and who is so much a part of your life; I've found, over 2 years after losing Tom, that it gets slowly less painful. I wish you comfort.

Dr. Mouli was a kind and gentle man. He was my urologist for 20+ years and I believe he was one of the best and I consider him a friend. May his family have peace in knowing how many people he helped and touched with his knowledge and compassion. I will miss him.

I am so very sorry to learn of Dr. Mouli´s death. I worked w/ him @ Bixby´s OR for several years. He spoke often about his sons and would tell us whenever one or the other had done something that made him proud. I remember the twinkle in his eye when something struck his fancy. I retired in late 1999 and moved from Adrian, so it´s been quite awhile since I saw him, but I´m proud to have had the chance to work w/ him.

Dr. Mouli treated both my father and my husband. He was always so caring. Even after he was no longer treating my father, he called me just to find out how he was doing. He always went beyond the usual. He will be greatly missed.

I´m so sorry to see this and I wish his family peace during this time. Dr Mouli saved my life in 1993 when my kidney failed and I had emergency surgery on a holiday weekend. His care and the comfort he gave me and my family meant the world to us.
