WAPAKONETA -- William L. (Bill) Williams, 82, of Wapakoneta, passed away on June 21, 2025, at 7:26 p.m. at the Roselawn Manor in Spencerville. He was born on June 28, 1942, in Hardin Co., the son of the late Harold and V. Eloise (Harrod) Williams.
A 1960 graduate of Stokes Local High School, he also served 2 years in the US Army. Bill retired from the Ford Motor Co., Lima Engine Plant, in 2007 with 31 years of service and was the co-owner of the Williams Tax Service where he prepared income taxes for several years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Charlotte J. (Shroyer) Williams, who shared 56 years with him.
He is also survived by, daughters, Jill (John) Neuman and Brenda (Jeremy) Holtzapple; grandchildren, Zach (Grace) Neuman, Taylor Neuman, John Holtzapple, Jovie Holtzapple; great granddaughter, Adalee Neuman, siblings, Glenn (Lana) Williams, Mary Neeley, Ruth (Jake) Linn, Sharon (Randy) Packman; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Darla Williams, Eugene (Jackie) Williams, Lawrence (Kathy-surviving) Williams, Patricia Williams, Candace Harrod, Robert Williams, and Nolan Carl Williams.
Bill was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. He was also a member of Amvets, Post #333, and the American Legion Post #330, both of Wapakoneta. Bill enjoyed golfing and word searches, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always quick to pull a joke or joke.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Burial of his cremated remains will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445. The family will receive friends 1-3:30 p.m., Saturday, June 28, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of the donor's choice.
