AMELIA COX Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our cherished Amelia Cox. She was 81 years old when she was called to the Lord. Amelia lived in Lodi for nearly 60 years and passed peacefully on October 3rd, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cameron, Texas to Joe and Eloisa DeLeon. Amelia was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The saying to know her is to love her is certainly true but more appropriate would be, to be known by her, was to be loved. Her passion in life was loving and caring for her family with all her heart. Her love language was cooking for loved ones, jotting down recipes to share, giving gifts and being thoughtful and kind. When she wasn't cooking in the kitchen, she could be found tending to her extensive garden of flowers and plants or spending quality time with her grandchildren whom she loved and shared so much. She was a member of St. Anne's parish, and her evenings were spent praying for family and friends to find comfort and peace in their lives. If you knew her, know that she prayed for you.
Amelia is survived by Jim Cox, her husband of 61 years, sons Charlie Cox (Liz), Sean Deleon (Catina) Boni DeLeon, sisters Toni Castro, Connie Denman, brothers, Joaquin and Chalo DeLeon, Grandchildren and spouses of Nick Cox, Cameron Beck, Anthony Cervantes, Andrew, Aloisa and Alexandra DeLeon, Emily, Gillian, Chloe, and Jameson Cox, and numerous beloved great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shelly Beck (Cox) grandson Joseph, Parents Joe and Eloisa DeLeon, Brothers Bonifacio, Toby, Abraham, and Alex, sisters Lucy, Mary, and Leacha.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 14th from 4-6 pm at Lodi funeral home. A rosary vigil will follow at 6pm. Mass for Amelia will be held on Wednesday October 15th at 11 am at St Anne's Catholic Church with internment following Mass at Lodi Memorial Park and Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place following internment at Casa Mexicana.
