Hart, Albert "Gene" Eugene

Hart, Albert "Gene" Eugene, 82, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. A proud U.S. Army veteran, devoted father, and beloved companion, Albert lived a life marked by service, kindness, and deep family bonds.

Born in Springfield, IL on May 1, 1943, Albert served during the Vietnam era, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, where he welcomed his first child, Joanna, with his first wife, Barbara Hart. They shared 20 years of marriage and raised three children, Joanna Hart (Steve Skarpa), Rebecca Hart (Dave Mefford), and Brian Hart (Laura). He was a proud grandfather to Jordan Dailey, daughter of Rebecca; and Amanda Hart and Angela Hart, daughters of Brian and Laura. Albert built a successful career with Sears, where he held management positions in both Grand Rapids and Bay City, MI. Then, later in sales in St. Louis, MO. He later shared a loving marriage with his second wife, the late Marilyn Hart, embracing her daughters, Becky and Vickey as his own. He and Marilyn often traveled to Germany to visit Becky, her husband, Ingo, and their children, who affectionately called him "Opa."

In recent years, Albert shared his life with longtime girlfriend, Linda Carlson. Together, they cherished holidays at Big Cedar Resort in Branson, MO, enjoying peaceful mornings on their balcony overlooking Table Rock Lake, often visited by friendly squirrels.

Albert is survived by his children; grandchildren, Jordan Dailey, Amanda Hart, and Angela Hart; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Hart; and is lovingly remembered by James's wife, Susan; James's children, Jerry Hart (Annie) and Cid Hart; and Jerry's children, Tristen and Grayson-who, like many, adored Uncle Al's homemade Christmas caramels. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Robert Meador of Springfield, IL, and Bob's wife, Linda, a classmate of Albert's. Known affectionately as "Uncle Bob" to Albert's children, their friendship spanned a lifetime.

Services: Funeral service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Monday, November 10, 2025, doors open at 1:30 p.m. and Service to begin at 2:30 p.m. Private Interment Franklin City Cemetery.
