Charles Willoughby Obituary
PETERSBURG – Charles William Willoughby, 84, of Petersburg, passed away Friday evening, December 6, 2024, at Masternick Memorial in New Middletown.
Charles was born on October 22, 1940, in Steubenville, a son of Charles Theodore and Margaret Thelma (Schnippert) Willoughby. He enlisted in the US Navy following his graduation from Austintown Fitch high school. He served two years with the Navy stationed in the Mediterranean and Cuba. He was a dedicated member of the Jehovah's Witnesses community, finding strength and guidance in his deep faith. Charles loved spending time in his garage, where he could tinker and work on projects with his kids and grandkids. His love for life was also reflected in his quiet passions, such as playing solitaire and following NASCAR. Charles had a special fondness for Hawaii, and he made it a tradition to send Ramona native Anthurium flowers every year on their anniversary. Known for his mild manner and hearty laugh, Charles had a way of bringing warmth and light to those around him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the caretakers at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
