Sharon Piccirilli Obituary

Sharon L. Piccirilli, 66, of Sharpsville, passed away Monday morning, September 16, 2024, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell. Mrs. Piccirilli was born on December 9, 1957, in Johnstown, PA, a daughter of the late Frederick and Beverly (Walz) Showalter Sr. She was a 1975 graduate of Sharpsville High School, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen. A dedicated homemaker, Sharon also worked for more than 20 years at the family business. Sharon loved to compete at just about anything. Whether she was playing Yahtzee or Cornhole, she always appreciated a little friendly rivalry. As an avid bowler, she was a longtime member of the Sunday Night Mixed League at Thornton Hall. Sharon found happiness in both listening to music and attending concerts. Throughout her life, she enjoyed peaceful camping trips to the mountains, especially in Tionesta, PA. Sharon was also a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Her husband of 46 years, Jeffrey Piccirilli Sr., whom she married on June 3, 1978, survives her at home in Sharpsville. She is also survived by her son, Jeffrey Piccirilli Jr., and his fiancée, Gia Prezioso, of Sharpsville; her daughter, Michelle Piccirilli, and her fiancé, Justin Kraynak, of Pulaski; a granddaughter, Emma Eckrich; and a brother, Michael Showalter, of Sharpsville. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Showalter Jr., and three sisters: Karen Showalter, Mary Sternthal, and Renee Unrue. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.StJude.org. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at a later date. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
