Wanda Marciano Obituary
GIRARD - Wanda L. Marciano, 95, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 5, 2025, at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.
Wanda was born July 6, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Charles Holicki and Anna Karol Holicki and was a lifelong area resident.
A proud graduate of Girard High School, Wanda balanced her work and family life with grace, dedicating 20 years to Sparkle Markets while lovingly raising her children and caring for her home.
Wanda was a member of St. Rose Church and actively participated in the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary in Girard. Known for her creativity and skill, she was an exceptional crafter and an accomplished seamstress. Above all, she found her greatest joy in the company of her family, treasuring every moment spent with her loved ones.
Wanda leaves to forever cherish her memory her son, Raymond (Reetta) Marciano of Girard; her daughter, Paulette (Joseph) Jarabek of Columbus; three grandchildren, Joseph Jarabek, Jennifer (Mark) Yahl and Jessica (Jason) Sneltzer; five great grandchildren, Little Joe, Stella, Emilia, Alana and Liam and her sister, Dolores (Robert) Dycman of Canfield.
Her husband of nearly 57 years, Paul A. Marciano, whom she married August 13, 1949, died April 18, 2006. Two sisters, Evelyn Davey and Ruth Brine also preceded Wanda in death.
Family and friends may gather to pay respects from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Rose Church 48 E. Main St., Girard, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown where Wanda will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, Wanda's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Harmony Hospice 7206 Market St. Suite C Youngstown, OH 44512.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Liberty Arms and Harmony Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Wanda.
Wanda will be remembered for her devotion to family, her creativity, and her warmth. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home in Girard.
