Royce Oliver Obituary

Royce Oliver, 79, of Fulton, formerly of Wingo, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

He was born on July 8, 1945, in Wingo, to the late Wayne Thomas Oliver and Sarah Elizabeth Oliver.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton.

Mr. Oliver served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.

He worked for General Tire as a machine operator for 40 years, and has been in this community most of his life. He served on the Habitat for Humanity Team, and the KenTenn Food Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Lee Allen Oliver, of Fulton; a daughter, Susan (Robert) Rushing, of Fulton; a granddaughter, Caroline (Elijah) Wiggins, of Kansas City, Missouri, and two great granddaughters, Charisma and Aliya. He is also survived by five sisters, Barbara Rea, of Martin, Tennessee, Loretta Kennemore, of Mayfield, Glenda Armstrong, of Murray, a twin sister, Joyce Cash, of Mayfield, Lucy Turner, of Mayfield, and two brothers, Keith (Joann) Oliver, of Mayfield, and Jeff Oliver, of Cuba.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, John Oliver and Dwayne Oliver.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Fulton. Burial followed in the Palestine Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Annie Ruth Pirtle Childcare Center, P.O. Box 1386, Fulton, KY 42041.
