Mark Schenk Obituary
December 28, 1955 - September 22, 2024
NORMAL - Mark K. Schenk, 68, of Normal, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at The University of Chicago Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the memorial home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
Mark was born on December 28, 1955, in Bloomington, a son to Gerald P. and Carolyn M. Goldsmith Schenk.
Survivors include his children, Erica (Rodrigo) Lopez of Normal, Brandon (Carley Price) Schenk of Bloomington; fiancé, Linda Hickey of Normal; grandchildren, Liliana Mae Lopez and Navy James Schenk; and siblings, Linda Schenk and David (Colleen) Schenk both of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve; granddaughter, Ryder; and son, Adam.
Mark grew up in Bloomington and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1974. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church and grade school. He worked in the trucking industry for many years. Mark loved yard work, painting, woodworking, and working on cars. He kept his vehicles in excellent condition as well as his motorcycles. He was a proud "cat dad."
