Jaunita Meadows Obituary

MEADOWS Mrs. Jaunita Pauline Harper Meadows - born June 1, 1951 in Cherokee, OK, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Mrs. Meadows was the youngest of 8 children and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1969. She attended Autrey Vocational Technical School - 1972 and received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree and worked as a nurse in several facilities. Early in her nursing career, she was named the Young Careerist for the Business and Professional Women of Cherokee. Her daughter has followed in her footsteps and is in the nursing profession. She received a second chance at life when she received a heart transplant in March 2000. She was an organ donor so others could be blessed as she had been. Mrs. Meadows moved to Mobile July 2008 to be near her sister, Jane, and joined Travis Road Baptist Church where she attended regularly and was a member of the choir. She was an avid supporter of any activities at church or school in which her devoted granddaughter, Carolyn, participated. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo Pauline Eichinger and Vergil Crittenden Harper; two brothers, Herbert Tuxhorn and Monroe Harper; two nephews and one niece. Survivors include her husband, Jim Meadows, of Cherokee, OK; daughter, Paula Huff, of Enid, OK; granddaughter, Carolyn Huff, of Mobile, AL; brothers, Andy Tuxhorn, Dallas, TX, Max (Linda) Tuxhorn, Hutchinson, KS, and Elmer (Sue) Tuxhorn, of Cleo Springs, OK; two sisters, Caroline Germany, of Cherokee, OK, and Jane (Ron) Roberts, of Mobile, AL; 15 nieces and nephews and 22 great and great-great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 A. M. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Travis Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 9 A. M. until 10 A. M. on Tuesday at the church.
