George Craven Obituary
George Thomas Craven, 94, of Coloma passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 26 at Watervliet Free Methodist of which he was a member. Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.
George was born Jan. 24, 1931, to Robert E. and Mary M. Craven in Bucyrus, Ohio. He graduated from high school in Marion, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. George was employed by Whirlpool Corp. in 1955 at the Marion division. He transferred to St. Joseph in 1959, where he retired in 1989 as a senior engineer after 33 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters: Jennifer Craven of Indiana and Kathy (Scott) Brutsche of Coloma. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by five brothers; his first wife, Phyllis and his latest wife, Helen.
