Sarah Barbaglia Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Sarah Yvonne Barbaglia on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at age 98.
Serafina, as her mother called her, was born in 1924 in Detroit Michigan to Pauline and John Lualdi. She spent seven years living with her maternal grandparents in the Italian region of Lombardy, where she practiced her Catholic Faith. At age 14 Serafina returned to Michigan where she helped her parents with the "Barbaglia System" Mustard Plaster Healing business.
In 1944, she married her husband of 65 years Mario Barbaglia, who was then serving in the Navy at Mount Vernon, Washington. They lived in San Francisco until moving to Morgan Hill in 1949, where they raised their four children.
Those who knew Sarah, remember her working in Morgan Hill at Nordstrom School, managing Lombardo's Donut Shop and working as a State Inspector at Sunsweet prunes.
Our mother had a very loving and caring disposition to all her family and friends, which shone through by her beautiful smile and unforgettable laugh. Her passion was cooking, baking delicious pies, crocheting, playing cards, playing shaft and she was the winner of many board games.
She always looked forward to visits from her family. Sarah enjoyed the company of many friends she met at the Morgan Hill Senior Center and Women In Touch club.
Sarah is survived by her four children, Randall Barbaglia, Marlene Barbaglia, Debbie Santos (Rick) and Lana Ailes(Joel), nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Mario, mother Pauline and stepfather John Barbaglia, father John Lualdi, sister Louise Bossi and grandson Jeramy Ailes.
A private family service will be held in April.
Sarah's wish for remembrance is for any donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice.

Sarah was a wonderful lady..We met Sarah when she worked at lombardos donuts, as we had the dry cleaners around the corner. She would treat our children with the red topped, frosty cones. The loved Sarah..She was also a great friend to my Aunt Josie. We no longer live in Morgan Hill, but we often thought of Sarah..May she rest In Peace.
