Alex Edgar Watson Sr., 89, of Columbus, OH passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Alex was a beloved fiancé, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Anna Watson, and brothers Donald and Kenneth Joe Watson. Alex is survived by his fiancé Arnetta Wilson, siblings Dave Watson and Linda (Gary) Smith, children Carlene (Hank) Yantis and Alex E. (Jill) Watson Jr., grandchildren Jason (Amy) Yantis and Whitney (Derek) Robinson, great-grandchildren Carleigh and Cameron Yantis and Derek and McKenna Robinson, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Alex was a lifelong resident of Columbus, OH and a 1953 graduate of Mifflin High School. Throughout his life, Alex had many hobbies, including bowling and enjoying relaxation and his family at his retreat on the Muskingum River. Notably among his family, Alex was an avid thrifter and never returned from an excursion around town without a new treasure. Alex was always up for a good debate on anything from sports to politics, and never missed a televised high school football game if he could help it. In honor of Alex, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 1:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery on Sunbury Road in Columbus, OH.
