Adam Lee Wellspring, beloved son, brother and friend, passed away on May 19, 2024 at the age of 42. He was born on March 18,1982 in Marietta OH to Rick and Kim Wellspring of Fleming.
Adam was a 2000 graduate of Warren High School and a 2006 graduate of Ohio University with a BA in Anthropology. He was a Staff Archaeologist / Field Supervisor and worked for AECOM (formerly URS Corp). He traveled extensively for his work, mostly in the regional areas of PA, NY, IN, IL, KY and OH. He lived in Cincinnati OH for 14 years and Santa Fe NM for 2 years before moving back to Marietta in 2022.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his parents; his sister Brittany Wellspring of Fleming; his grandfather and step-grandmother, Andrew & Helen Francis of Marietta; aunts & uncles: Kevin & Tammy Wellspring of Vincent and Kris & Dave Pressler of Stow OH; and his beloved dog Leroy, his loyal companion through his many travels and adventures.
Adam was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Grace Francis and Norma Wellspring and his grandfather Fred Wellspring.
Adam loved all genres of music and attended many live shows and concerts throughout his life. He was a proud member of the local band Flinch, playing the bass guitar. Flinch formed in the fall of 2000 and has played over 400 shows and produced 3 albums of original songs.
He will be remembered by his wide circle of friends and family for his warm heart, charming character, quick wit and the joy he brought into their lives. In this time of sorrow, we take comfort in the knowledge that Adam’s legacy of love, music and
friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Adam’s life will be held on Saturday June 22nd from 3 – 5 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 312 Franklin St, Marietta OH. Anyone who knew Adam is welcome to attend and share their memories of him.
Rest in peace, dear Adam. Your presence will be deeply missed, and the song of your spirit will remain with us always.
