Princeton-Albert H. Furbush, Jr., 72, died Saturday, November 30, 2024 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester after being stricken ill at home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Patricia (Mack) Furbush; three children and their spouses, Albert H. Furbush III & Alice; Holly Pyles & Justin; and Heather Moreira & Carlos; his sisters, Patricia Clark & Nancy Mack; and 10 adoring grandchildren: Matthew, Leanna, Jeremy, and Benjamin Furbush, Andrew, Beckett, and Elliana Pyles, Samantha, Julia, and Dylan Hapgood Moreira; generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
Son of the late Albert Hapgood Furbush, Sr. & Mildred (Richardson) Furbush, Al was raised and educated in Lancaster and was a member of the Nashoba Regional High School, Class of 1970. He and Patty enjoyed the late seventies in Oceanside, California, where together they began to raise their family. They later returned home and settled in the Sterling Campgrounds before currently residing in Princeton. Al spent his professional career as a foreman for American Sweeping Company in Boston for more than thirty years until retiring. He was a man of spiritual beliefs and a member of the Wyldewood Church in Hubbardston. Among Al's passions were anything mechanical, notably the restoration project of his father's antique John Deere Tractor and yearly tractor pulls at the Sterling Fair. He was an automotive enthusiast, long-time race car driver at the Hudson Speedway, and frequent attendee at Kimball's Friday night car shows in his famed Ratrod. Above all, Al was a devoted family man, loving husband, father, and papa. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 5 until 7PM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. In typical Al fashion and in his honor, attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable attire, jeans and t-shirts suggested. Burial will later be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Albert H. Furbush, Jr. to: Beth Israel Lahey Health-Joslin Diabetes Center, Office of Philanthropy, 529 Main St., 4th Floor, Charlestown, MA 02129.
