Greenfield – Michael Ray Cochran, age 72, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, at his residence. He was born in New Albany, Indiana, on August 3, 1952 to John Thomas and Joan Marie (Spath) Cochran. He graduated from New Albany High School in 1970. He married Deborah Faye (Kays) Cochran on January 26, 1974.
He worked as a Laborer for Floyd County Highway Department many years before retiring in 2017. Mr. Cochran was a member of the Floyd County Coon Hunters Club. He loved the outdoors, deer hunting, and fishing. He was an avid race car fan and enjoyed shooting pool.
He is survived by his wife Deborah "Debbie" Cochran of Greenfield; grandchildren, Taylor Jones, Brian Cochran, Chase Cochran, and Shane Cochran; great-grandchild, Parker Rae Jones; and brother, John T. Cochran, Jr. of New Albany, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Ray Cochran, Jr., and infant son, Brian Keith Cochran.
A Celebration of Michael's life will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Food Pantry, 2040 W. Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
