Alfonso LeAlcala Obituary

Alfonso LeAlcala II, affectionately known as Poncho, was born on September 3, 1938, in Brentwood, California. He passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, in San Diego, surrounded by his loving family.
Alfonso was married to his beloved wife, Penny Joy, for 65 years. Together, they raised six children, fostering a home filled with love, laughter, and resilience. Alfonso was a proud father and cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, whom he adored deeply.
A gifted cook, Alfonso delighted his family with his culinary creations, often bringing everyone together around the dinner table for meals that were as comforting as they were delicious. His warmth, humor, and dedication to family created countless treasured memories. Alfonso and Penny's remarkable partnership was a testament to true love, as they navigated life hand in hand, witnessing the joys of their children and later, their grandchildren.
A devoted family man, Alfonso's legacy lives on through the values he instilled in those he loved. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Chapel Santee, 10920 Summit Ave, Santee, CA 92071. Poncho was a generous man, who often gave bountiful donations to various charities during his 86 years on earth. Donations will be made in his honor to St. Jude’s Research Hospital and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
