Alice Wright Obituary
**In Loving Memory of Alice Faye Rogers Wright**
Alice Faye Rogers Wright, passed away at the age of 76 on September 2, 2024, in her home in Iron City, TN, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 11, 1947 in Florence, AL, to the late Fred Hipple and Anna Faye Stults Rogers.
Alice's journey through life was marked by her unwavering love and commitment to her family. She was united in marriage to Guilford C. Wright, on June 4, 1981. Her academic pursuit led her to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of North Alabama, a testament to her determination and passion for learning.
For over 30 + years, Alice dedicated her professional life to the Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, TN, serving as the Administrator. Her compassion for others and her tireless work ethic left a lasting impact on the community and all those she worked with.
Outside of her career, Alice found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a profound love for reading, enjoyed cooking, and treasured the moments spent with her family, creating countless memories that will be fondly remembered.
She is survived by her husband, Guilford C. Wright of Iron City, TN; daughters, Charlotte Tinin of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Susan Mason of Iron City, TN; sister, Brenda Kay Rogers Butler (Ralph); grandchildren, Anna Tess Hurst (Zack), Jessa Ann Shedd, Alex Neal, and Clint Neal; great grandchildren, Everett Hurst and Elias Hurst; nieces, Nova Collins (Roy) and Sharon Darby (Mike); great nieces, Brittany Getchell and Ashley Freeman Zuker, Asia Darby, and Ivory Darby; and great-great nieces, Kaitlyn Getchell, Scarlett Getchell, Isabella Freeman, and Ashlyn Freeman.
In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her sister, Nona Ruth Rogers Holden Ray.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Edward Burbank officiating. Burial will follow in the Railroad Cemetery in Iron City, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
Pallbearers will be Craig Stults, Mike Darby, Don Hale, Junior Wright, Jason Wright, Danny Robertson, and Spencer Morse.
