Visitation will be held Friday, October 31, 2025, (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at Chisolm's Family Funeral Home in Killeen, TX.
Jenai Naomi Ward, 35, of Waco, Texas, passed away on October 16, 2025. She was born on September 28, 1990, to Jimmy L. Ward and Earlene M. Ward.
Jenai was a devoted mother to her beloved son, Joshua Ward, who was the light of her life and of whom she was most proud. She cherished every moment spent with him – teaching him new things, taking him to the movies and the park, playing games together and driving him to and from school. Her love for Joshua knew no bounds, and being his mother was her greatest joy. She was fiercely protective of him, and the number one rule in her book was don’t mess with Joshua.
She pursued her education at Central Texas College, Texas A&M, and Texas State Technical Institute College of Waco, graduating with pride and receiving several teaching certifications. Jenai achieved her goal of becoming a teacher and dedicated more than 15 years of her life to working with children, with her last employment at a EOAC Head Start School where she made a lasting impact on the young lives she touched. She enjoyed working with children so much that she sometimes brought those skills home, playfully saying “1, 2, 3, all eyes on me,” which always made everyone laugh.
Jenai joined Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and enjoyed working with youth activities, attending church services, and participating in Sunday school. She maintained her relationship with God throughout her life.
Family and friends meant everything to Jenai. She was a twin to her brother Jonathan, and they remained close from childhood through adulthood, sharing a special bond. She loved celebrating with family and friends during holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday. While generally soft-spoken and kindhearted, those close to her knew she had a feisty side and was fiercely protective of her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Nathaniel Ward; her parents, Jimmy L. Ward and Earlene M. Ward; her twin brother, Jonathan Nathaniel Ward; sister, Anetra M. Foster; and a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss her.
