Rebecca Schumacher Obituary

Rebecca Schumacher, 43, of Jackson, formerly of West Portsmouth, passed away suddenly on August 11, 2025, at the UH Parma Medical Center. Born on July 3, 1982, in Portsmouth, she was the beloved daughter of Luther Scarberry and Joyce Bland.

Rebecca was a proud graduate of Portsmouth West High School, Class of 2000, and went on to earn her degree as an RN from Rio Grande College in 2010, where she was a valued member of the Lambda Sorority. She dedicated her career to nursing, serving in home care and hospice care with compassion and dedication.

She is preceded in death by her father, Luther Scarberry.

Rebecca leaves behind her loving mother, Joyce Bland Scarberry; her devoted husband, Aaron Schumacher, both of Jackson; her sister, Ruby Mae Spurlock of Tennessee; her brother, Kevin Scarberry of Toledo; her godmother, Wilma Eldridge of Sciotoville; along with several other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

Rebecca’s vibrant spirit and caring heart touched the lives of many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
