Andrew “Andy” McCabe, 39, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
A visitation for Andy will be held from 3-7 P.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Dayton Cemetery in Dayton, Iowa. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate.
Andrew David McCabe son of Larry and Cheryl (Cunningham) McCabe was born on September 12, 1985 in Des Moines, Iowa. Andy received his education in Des Moines, graduating from Des Moines Lincoln High School with the class of 2003.
Following high school, Andy worked at Ashley Furniture in Wisconsin. He then attended DMACC where he earned his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement. Following college, Andy worked for TSA at the Des Moines International Airport and then worked security at Wells Fargo in Des Moines. He also started his own security company which was called DA Security. Andy currently was employed as an Armed Security Guard at the Iowa Army National Guard Aviation in Boone, Iowa.
Andy loved working on cars and playing electronic games. He was also an Eagle Scout and loved his two cats, Lillie and Critter.
Survivors include his father, Larry McCabe of Dayton, IA; his sister, Jennifer (Greg Rehquate) McCabe of Des Moines, IA; aunts and uncles, Donna Davis of Las Vegas, NV, Marian Condonitti of Marine, IL, Karen and Rob Johnson of Louisiana, MO, Karen (Tony) Franscoviak of Monttcello, IN; and many cousins.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl McCabe.
