Ann Blaine Biggerstaff was born November 18, 1949, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Dr. John LaFon Biggerstaff Jr. and Doris Marion (McClanahan) Biggerstaff. The eldest of four children, she studied piano for 12 years under the tutelage of her grandfather, Julliard graduate John Biggerstaff Sr. She graduated from Kirksville High School and went on to college at Northeast Missouri State College (now Truman State University), where she met and fell in love with William Harrison Leefers. They married on July 3rd, 1969, and together raised three children and helped care for two grandchildren. As a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, there was nothing Ann enjoyed more than spending time with those who were dear to her. She loved going out to dinner with her husband and friends, spending time with her children and granddaughters, and attending gatherings including Gourmet Club, her book club, and other organizational functions. Ann belonged to the Junior League, the University Club of Iowa City and PEO. She also volunteered for the Crisis Center. Ann was an extremely caring and generous person and was always looking for ways she could help those around her. She used much of her time to make sure that her loved ones had everything they needed, that traditions were kept, and to make sure that her family was appropriately celebrated. Ann had an impeccable gift for style and decorating; she created a warm and beautiful home, which she took great pleasure in tastefully updating in keeping with each season and holidays. Ann is survived by her husband, Bill; children, William Dallas Leefers, Molly Elnore Leefers (Kirsten Brooks), and John Ryan Leefers (Karina Leefers); and grandchildren, Lucy Elizabeth and Emma Isabel Leefers. She is also survived by her brother-in-law John A. Leefers (Nancy Leefers) and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings Jane Leslie Mathis (Larry Mathis), John LaFon Biggerstaff III (Kathy Biggerstaff, wid.), and Nancy Lynn Biggerstaff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the
