ANNA MAE'S JOURNEY
Anna Mae Savage was born on August 1, 1942, in Pocomoke City, Maryland to the late Leola Marshall and Willie Revels, Sr. She peacefully departed this life on February 9, 2025, in the Salisbury, Maryland home of her beloved granddaughter.
Raised and educated in Worcester County, Maryland, Anna Mae was known for her warmth, kindness, and love of life. When asked about the things she enjoyed most, she would always say, "I love meeting new people, spending time with family, laughing, shopping, and helping others." She also loved music, dancing, eating crabs and had a great sense of humor. She found joy in the simple things, and her presence brought light to those around her. She truly enjoyed her trip with Michelle and Ruby Purnell to the T.D. Jakes conference.
Anna dedicated many years to Campbell Soup in Pocomoke City, Maryland, before retiring. Even after retirement, her caring spirit led her to continue serving others by providing companionship for the elderly through SHORE UP! Inc. In 1968, Anna Mae married Calvin Savage, her lifelong companion and devoted partner. Together, they built a home filled with love and raised six children.
Her faith was an important force in her life. She began her Christian journey at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Wartown, Maryland, led by Reverend James Marshall later becoming a member of New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City. In her later years, she found spiritual fulfillment at Refreshing Well Church under the leadership of her grandson-in-law, Pastor Alvin Harmon, Jr.
Anna Mae leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Marvis Holden of Salisbury, Maryland, and her four sons, Darnell Revels of Baltimore, Maryland, Timmy Revels of Pocomoke City, Maryland, Rodney Collier, Sr. of Dover, Delaware and Stephen Collier and his wife, Shryleen, of Salisbury, Maryland. Her legacy continues through her sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Robert Revels and his wife, Addie, of Temperanceville, Virginia, Calvin Revels and Alvin Revels, both of Salisbury, Maryland as well as her sister, Rosa Lee Melendez and her husband, Daniel of Pocomoke, Maryland. Anna Mae was blessed with lifelong friendships and will be dearly missed by Dinette Marshall, Grace Dennis, and Jean Smith.
In addition to her parents, Anna Mae was preceded in death by: her husband, Calvin Savage; her sisters, Pauline Costen, Madeline Blake, and Brenda Revels; her brothers, Willie Revels, Jr., Albert Marshall, Eddie Revels, Ronnie Revels, George Holland, and Norvell Revels and her beloved aunt, Etta Foreman, and uncle, Clarence Marshall.
Anna Mae Savage was a woman who held fast to faith, love, and laughter. She embraced life with an open heart and a generous spirit, always finding ways to uplift and support those around her. Her love for her family was unwavering, and the many lives she touched will carry her memory forward. Though she is no longer physically with us, her legacy of kindness, joy, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
