Aretta Bonnie Heard Burk Obituary
A memorial service celebrating the life of Bonnie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, located at Hope Community Church of God, 3247 W Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, LA 71118. Officiating the service will be Pastor Steve Nelson.
Bonnie graduated from business school and was a bookkeeper for several businesses. She married the love of her life, Henry N. Burk, on April 15, 1949. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was very active in her church and cared deeply for her family. Bonnie will be missed by many loved ones.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry N. Burk (2005); son, Charles N. Burk (2021); and siblings, Willie Ethel Elvey, James Douglas Heard, and Jonnie Branam. Left to cherish her memory include her children, Mike Burk, Diane Pharis (Bill), and Thomas Burk (Maria); 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; along with her sisters, Lucy, Elizabeth, and Linda.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Shreveport Manor and Amedisys Hospice for the care, love, and support provided to Bonnie. The family suggests donations be made to Scouts of America.
