William Carl "Woody" Woodward, Jr., 80, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Atlanta. He was born in Los Angeles, California. Woody obtained his undergraduate degree in Government from Georgetown University. He then served in the Army for 2 years, including in Korea, as a Tank Unit Commander obtaining the rank of First Lieutenant and receiving the National Defense Service and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals. After his honorable discharge, Woody received his law degree from Duquesne University. He then continued his federal service the next 35 years as an attorney with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and then the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Harriet and is survived by his sister Cynthia L. Woodward of New York City.
