Audrey M. McCallie, 87, fulfilled her lifelong goal of meeting Jesus on Dec. 12, 2024. With her daughter Cindy and favorite caretaker Sharon by her side, Audrey peacefully entered heavenly rest from the comfort of her bed.
Audrey was born Dec. 9, in Fort Payne, Ala., to Estelle and Dwight Guyton. She spent her early life in Fort Payne before moving to Chattanooga. A lifelong administrative assistant, Audrey was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. But her greatest love was that of Jesus. She was a dedicated and active member of Edgewood Baptist Church for more than 40 years, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir most of her life. She didn't miss a service until Parkinson's Disease made it impossible.
Audrey joins her parents, son-in-law Bill Flanary, many dear friends and her granddog Tito in heaven. She is survived by her daughters Donna McCallie of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Cindy Bruce (Jeff) of Chattanooga; granddaughter Keisha Shoun (Corey) of Johnson City; grandson Nicholas Bruce (Lindsay) of Hailey, Id.; great-grandchildren Lyla, Cora, Emerson and Griffin; and sister Brenda Bryant (Gail) of Rainsville, Ala. The family offers a special thank you to the staff of Regency House Assisted Living for their incredible care.
The family will receive friends at Edgewood Baptist Church, 3604 Ringgold Road, from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17. A memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Dr. T. Dale Kidd officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Edgewood Baptist Church Joy Circle.
