Born in Leonville, Louisiana on December 9, 1933, Avie John Taylor was a dedicated and cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew and loved him.
Avie spent over 50 years of his life navigating the waters, steering vessels with skill and passion as a Tugboat Captain in the dredging industry. His love for the waterways was only rivaled by his passion for life. Avie was a man of many talents - from running the "Sugar Patch Lounge," where he enjoyed games of pool and lively nights of dancing, to being a source of joy and entertainment for his family and friends.
Let us remember Avie John Taylor as a man who lived with purpose, grace, and an unconditional dedication to those he held dear to his heart. May his legacy continue to inspire us and shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
