Ba. T. Kroeger, passed away peacefully at her home in Monticello surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
The only daughter of the late Vo Van Cuong and Nguyen Thi Tu. She was born September 23, 1939, in Tan-Hoi Village (Rach-Gia), Vietnam.
Ba arrived from Vietnam with her husband and son on March 17,1971 and on May 13, 1972, was baptized, along with her son, at the Church of St. Peter's in 1972. Her first employment in the USA was as a teacher's aide for children with HeadStart on Dillion Rd. in Monticello and was overjoyed at receiving her first paycheck! In 1978 she began her lifelong career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the (then) Sullivan County Infirmary in Liberty and worked faithfully caring for the elderly with the silent love of an angel assigned to her care until her retirement in 2002. On April 19, 1984, she humbly and heartfeltly became a Naturalized American citizen. Her first family home was in 1979 in Monticello. There she loving applied her seamstress talents to make many of her own clothing, curtains for all windows and even knitted many a winter hats for herself and family, in between of caring, cleaning and cooking for family. Her family cooking skills of Vietnamese Cuisine was of the highest world class order, 5 stars +, among her family and friends. Her greatest love was her joyous gardening of flowers and many nutritional foods, nurturing them with love and silent conversations from seedlings to full growth and shared with family and friends. Ba's love for her family and friends will be her legacy of humbly loving all with a deeply felt sincerity and patience with her whole heart, mind and soul.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kip W. Kroeger, at home; their son, Hoang and wife Susan and his two sons, Bruce and wife Madelyn and daughter Maya (1st great grandchild) and Brandon, all from Virgina. Her six brothers from Vietnam: Vo Van Anh, Vo Thanh Nguyen, Vo Van Quang, Vo Van Ut, Vo Van Be and Vo Van Them. And many sisters and brothers in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins from both USA and Vietnam.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 10 to 11am at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral mass will then be held at 11:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Church of St. Peter, 10 Liberty Street, Monticello, NY 12701.

Hoang and family,

So sorry for your loss. I can't believe I didn't have a chance to meet Your Mom as best as I can remember; she sounds like a wonderful and strong lady.
