Barbara "Bobbi" Merriman Martin, 88, went to her eternal reward on January 28, 2025. She was born in Georgia on August 19, 1936, to the late Annie Laidlaw and Ross Merriman. She had family in Northern Florida as well, so she was known and loved by many in both states. She married her husband, Curtis Martin, in December of 1955, and they lived in Atlanta Georgia where she raised her family. She returned to Florida when her husband passed away and was residing in Callahan, Florida.
Bobbi loved her family deeply. She respected and appreciated each one of them for the individuals they are. If you weren't family, it didn't stop Bobbi from treating you like you were. She was lovingly called "Aunt Bobbi" by so many people who were not her relatives, probably because she loved them unconditionally. Bobbi had a great memory, and she enjoyed reliving her life stories with people. She also loved telling jokes. Her southern charm and style made her adorable. She practiced southern hospitality by offering a glass of her extra sweet tea to anyone who visited her. Her laugh was contagious. Bobbi always found reasons to be thankful, even in the hardest times. She was an inspiration. She showed us how to live a life of contentment and joy. She was quick to tell anyone who would listen that she loved Jesus, and she wanted all her friends and family to experience the peace she's had since trusting Him as her Savior.
Bobbi is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Curtis Martin; son, Steven C. Martin; daughter, Lori P. Martin; brothers, Jack Merriman and R.W. Merriman. She is survived by her sisters, Clarice Redd, Joy Stafford, and Penny Callaway; grandchildren, Taylor Sellers (Cody), Rylee Bishop, and Chandler Martin; great grandchildren, West and Waylon; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The tribute above was prepared by Bobbi's loving family.
A Service for Bobbi will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Live Oak Baptist Church in Callahan, FL with Pastor David King officiating.

I got to know Mrs. Martin a few years ago, she was my tenant and I loved her visits to my office. I always complemented her as she was extremely sharp and well manicured. For her age, I would always say " You always look very nice and your hair is super cute". She was such a nice woman to be around and she will truly be missed.
