Barbara Middleton Obituary

LAKEVILLE: Barbara Ann Middleton, 86, of Lakeville, died October 13, 2025, at the Majora Lane Center in Millersburg.
She was born at home on March 9, 1939, to the late Floyde and Donna (Carpenter) Reed in Howard, Ohio. Barbara married Donald James Middleton on September 11, 1954, in Cusseta, Georgia, by a Justice of the Peace. The couple had been married for 45 years until Donald died on May 7, 1999.
Barbara attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Big Prairie, Ohio, for many years. She loved her church family very much. Barbara was a born-again Christian. Her great loves were her husband and her family, and she loved spending time with them around campfires and at family gatherings.
Barbara worked years ago at Judson Hill's Church and Outdoor Camp in the kitchen, where she loved working around the children. In the past, she was a foster parent and cared for Veterans in her home.
She was kind, generous, and a good listener. She loved to read, watch football and baseball, and especially loved her Cat, Precious.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Shawn Middleton (Myers), Alan Dale Middleton and his wife Melissa (Pearce), Donald Craig Middleton, and Melissa Diana Middleton (Wiebe); her son-in-law Todd Windsor; her 13 grandchildren Raena Myers, Deana Myers, Sadie Myers, Sarah Myers, Jimmy Genest (Windsor), Stephanie Martin (Windsor), Jenny Middleton, Julie Middleton, Jason Middleton, Nicole Middleton, Natasha Middleton, Josh Middleton, and Brittany Middleton; her 21 great-grandchildren; and her brothers Kenny Reed and Mike Reed.
In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded by her husband, Donald Middleton, her daughter, Deborah Kay Middleton (Windsor), and her brothers, Eugene Reed and Jerry Reed.
A graveside service in Barbara's memory will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join the family afterwards at God's Word Bible Church, 12740 Co Hwy 330, Big Prairie, OH 44611.
