Barbara Jean Phillips, 88, of Brockway Township and previously of Lubbock, Texas, passed away November 5, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 16, 1936, in Brunswick, ME, the daughter of the late Ervin and Laura (Shaw) Joy.
Her marriage to Billy C. Phillips on January 15, 1961, in El Paso, Texas. They spent 51 loving years together before Billy's passing on October 8, 2012.
Barbara was living in El Paso, Texas when she met the love of her life Billy. Together they raised three beautiful children. In 1964, Billy established Scrub A Dubb Barrel Company where Barbara worked as the bookkeeper. She was an amazing cook and loved to host family gatherings and holidays. Her love for Christmas has continued to be passed down through her children and grandchildren. Barbara was skilled with a sewing needle and handmade dresses and other clothing that her family still holds near and dear. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. Barbara loved her family more than anything.
Surviving are her daughter, Wendy (Danny) Owens of Brown City; grandchildren, Jason Phillips, Jeromy Phillips, Robin Joy, Roshelle Owens, Stephanie Davis, and Chris Farrell; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Beverly Boyer; and her beloved dog, Skyla.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodie Lynn Farrell Prather and a son and daughter-in-law, Billy (Katrina) Phillips.
The family honors the memory of Barbara and invites you to visit and share memories Monday, November 11, 2024, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Inurnment will take place in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lubbock, Texas.
Memorials are suggested to "Wishes of the Family".
