Bobbie Rice, age 94, passed away on December 26, 2024, in Eustace, Texas. She was born on December 9, 1930, in Childress, Texas to parents Griffin Leroy and Helen Pauline (Vandiver) Pittman.
Bobbie dedicated 30 years of her working life to Goodyear, before spending an impressive 40 years at the Church of Christ in Mabank, where she was also a member. Her commitment to these roles showcased her deep connection to her work and community.
When not busy with work, Bobbie was an avid genealogy enthusiast and birdwatcher. She also displayed her artistic talents through various mediums with a particular fondness for ceramics and painting. Bobbie loved to read, and she found joy in the suspenseful tales penned by Mary Higgins Clark and Agatha Christie, proving her love for a good mystery.
Bobbie was known for her great and wicked sense of humor, often brightening the days of those around her with her wit and charm. She was a dedicated wife and mother who took great pride in her family and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service for Bobbie will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Mabank Church of Christ, 306 W. Mt. Vernon St., Mabank, TX, 75147.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Griffin and Helen Pittman; husband, Ray Rice; son, David Rice; son, Hal Rice; daughter, Caryl Cook; sister, Patsy Wagner; sister, Penny King; and brother, Jerry Pittman.
Bobbie is survived by her children, Lorranna Allen, Rhenda Skinner, June Rice, and Doug Rice; grandchildren, Chris Allen, Clint Skinner, Steven Skinner, Wendy Hood, Layne Rice, CJ Rice, Nicki Norris and husband Joe, Jerod Cook, Jonathan Cook and wife Lindsay, Joshua Cook; greatgrandchildren, Katie Morrill and husband Nate, Dominique Garza and husband Josh, Robbie Skinner, Stevie Skinner, Aliyah Skinner, Rae Norris, Arya Norris, and Matthew Cook, as well as numerous extended family, friends, and loved ones.
