Benjamin F. Butler (Ben), age 91, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso, Michigan. Ben was born to Fred and Juanita Butler, of Lakeview on July 8, 1934. Ben attended Lakeview Schools, and was well known in the Greenville area, working for many years at Greenville Printing. Ben also learned masonry skills, and completed several projects of stone facing on buildings, and around fireplaces for friends and family.
In the mid-1990's, Ben moved to White Pine, Michigan, in the western Upper Peninsula, and resided there for many years in his retirement. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, and playing bridge (both in person and online).
Surviving Ben are children: Lindsay Langdon (Mike Skodak) of Owosso, Tagg Butler (Patti Cowden) of Six Lakes, and Laura (Linscott) Fox (Michael) of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Amber (DJ) Goetz, Kasandra Butler, Jessica Butler, and Krystle (Dave) Veldhof; Nelleke Langdon, Allie Langdon, and Evelyn Skodak; Meghan Fox, and Benjamin Fox. Also surviving are ex-wives, Sara Butler of Greenville, and Joyce (Jerry) Barber of Arizona, and sisters: Gay Norton of Linden, IA; Diana (Lyal) Norwood of Sparta, MI; Denise (George) Hubbard of Howard City, MI; Paula (Bob) Hampson of Oro Valley, AZ; and Terri (Russ) Bush of Big Rapids, MI, along with many nieces and nephews.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Timothy Butler, and a daughter, Traci Butler.
An informal graveside gathering for family and friends to share remembrances will be held on Monday, October 20th at 11am, at Lakeview Cemetery by the Butler plot. Following the gathering at the cemetery, those who want to purchase a beverage or food and continue sharing, are invited to move to McKenna's Village Restaurant in Lakeview. In case of inclement weather, we will be at McKenna's starting at 11am.
