MORTON – Bernard S. "Bernie" Badgerow, 85, of Morton, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 21, 1939, in Bellevue, Illinois, to David and Hazel (Wriedt) Badgerow. Bernie married Sandra Culshaw on October 11, 1958, in Bellevue. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Badgerow of Morton; sons, Mike (Teresa) Badgerow of Morton and Mark (Gwen) Badgerow of Washington; daughter, Sarah (John) Richardson of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Alina, Samuel, Tanisha, Jessica, Matthew, Hannah, Alyssa, Jack and Jonah; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Badgerow and Linda Culshaw and brother-in-law, Robert Culshaw. He was preceded in death by daughter, Susan Badgerow, his parents, sister, Shirley Clouse and brother, Gerald. Bernie started his career at CILCO as a lineman before being promoted to a supervisor. He retired in 1995 after 37 ½ years. He was a member of Grace Church in Morton and Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland. A private family graveside service will be held at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton. A Celebration of Life is pending. Memorials may be made to PURA Syndrome Foundation or Rural Home Missionary Association (RHMA). Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
