Bernice D. Hicks, age 95 passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard Hicks, Jr., her son, Howie, her parents, Helen and Michael Dorsey, and her brother Charles.
She was born May 26, 1929 in Cleveland, where she lived until moving to Willowick around 1961. She was currently residing at Governor's Pointe in Mentor where she was surrounded by friends and caring employees. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Rob) Jesenovec and her son, Duane Hicks (Patti-deceased), her grandchildren, Scott, Micheal, and Brittni, her sister, Arlene (Jim-deceased) Flynn, her brother, Joe (Pat) Dorsey, and many nieces and nephews. She worked for Kinnear Products and Positive Safety in Secretarial positions until retiring.
Bernice and Howard enjoyed traveling and went on many trips including cruises, Hawaii, Alaska, as well as trips to Vermont and Florida to visit relatives. Bernice enjoyed watching sports, especially the Browns, Guardians, and Cavs.
A visitation for Bernice will be Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Monreal Srnick Funerals & Cremations, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
Her funeral mass will be at noon following her visitation at St. Mary Magdalene in Willowick.
Family requests donations be made in Bernice's name to St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick, Ohio 44095 or a charity of choice.
