LAKE PROVIDENCE, LA - Funeral services for Bert Glendon Pearson, age 97 of Lake Providence, Louisiana will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at First Baptist Church, 304 Davis Street in Lake Providence, Louisiana.
Reverend Bill Bearden will officiate.
Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence.
Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Lake Providence.
Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at First Baptist Church, 304 Davis Street in Lake Providence.
Bert was one of the last surviving veterans of World War II, serving in Company M of the 19 Infantry and as occupational forces in Japan after the war. He was a member of Powell-Martin-Barrett Post of the American Legion in Lake Providence.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Froman) Pearson; his parents, Edward Valentine Pearson and Birttie Gertrude (Williams) Pearson; long time companion, Margaret (Favors) Herrington; 2 sons, David Herrington & Gary Herrington; 4 brothers: Cordell Pearson, Odell Pearson, Ray Pearson & Jerry Pearson; and 2 sisters: Helen Allen & Dorothy Austin.
Bert is survived by his daughter, Cheri Lynne Pearson of Lake Providence, Louisiana; sister, Martha Price of Transylvania, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Karen (Herrington and Pat Kennedy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Becky Herrington of Leesburg, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Darline Herrington of Town Creek, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; Sassy his granddog; Host of great grandchildren & Host of nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers are: Roger Clement, John Wesley Clement, Mark Clement, Charles Stanley, Pat Kennedy, and Billy Brossette.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Randy Price, Kenny Price, Garrett Herrington, Chas Kennedy, and Keith Austin.
