Norman Benhardt Obituary

Norman’s life began on May 7, 1948, in Ramona. He was the son of Ellis and Orvene (Bailey) Benhardt. Norman attended Kansas State University and went on to serve his country in the United States Army for four years before going into the Army Reserves in the late 60’s. After the service, Norman went to work for the railroads as an engineer. He worked for both the Union Pacific and the Sante Fe railroads, retiring as an engineer. Norman enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and pheasant hunting. He is survived by his children Chad (Sherry) Benhardt of Kingsville, MO and Neely (Chris) Millbern of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Calab, Justin, Daniel, and Corynn; great grandchildren Reese, Sebastian, Graham, and Forde, his brother Calvin Benhardt of Oklahoma City, and nephews and niece Rhonda, Russell and Randy . Norman passed away on Monday October 13, 2025, at Salina Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Rodney Benhardt. Norman’s family will gather with friends on Saturday October 25, 2025, from 12p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Herington. His graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Lewis Cemetery, Ramona. Memorials may be directed in his name to your favorite charity.
