Due to the weather days for the services have been changed to Monday visitation and Tuesday service.
Birdie Reeder, age 84, of Blanche, KY passed away on February 12, 2025, in Claiborne Medical Center. She was a believer in the Holiness Faith. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
Birdie was preceded in death by her father, Dewey Lewis of Blanche, KY; her mother, Miley Lewis of Blanche, KY; one son, David Wayne Reeder; a brother, Jessee Smith of Blanche, KY; a brother, Robert Lewis of Blanche, KY; a sister Virgie Bailey of Blanche, KY; and a sister, Emma Jean Shepherd of Arjay, KY.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Clyde Reeder, Sr of Arjay; a daughter, Sheila (Ralph) Smith of Arjay, KY; a son, Frankie (Rhonda) Reeder of Arjay, KY; a son, Mark (Rosemary) Reeder, of Newtown; a son, James Dewey (Tammy) Reeder of Speedwell, TN; grandchildren, Corey (Shirl) Smith, Brittany (Timmy) Sloan, Stephanie (Todd) Beckett, Tyler (Kristy) Reeder, Cody (Katlyn) Reeder, April Reeder, Isaac (Katlyn) Reeder, Jacob Reeder (Hannah), Justin Phipps; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be on Monday, February 18, 2025, at 12:00 Noon at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Asher and Rev. Dylan Carnes. Burial will be in the Big Jim Cemetery on White Mountain with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family thanks the staff at Buchanan Place for their care and concern.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
