Jim Yarnell Obituary

Jim Yarnell 1950-2024 James Curtis Yarnell, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was born March 19, 1950 in St. Joseph to William Ralph and Worldia (Fobair) Yarnell. He grew up in St. Joseph and was a graduate of Lafayette High School, and earned an associate's degree at Missouri Western State College. Jim married Barbara Magana on December 22, 1995. She survives of the home. He worked as a computer operator for American National Bank, then for Wyeth Hardware until 1986. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he spent many years in in direct mail marketing. He finished his career as a computer specialist at Bryan Medical Center. After high school, Jim enjoyed playing softball. After moving to Lincoln, he took up golf and attending Junior A Hockey. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Susie; and brother-in-law, Charles. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Barbara; stepchildren, Dawn and Nicholas Pickett; grandson, Zion Pickett; siblings, Bill and Ann Yarnell, Ruth Thompson, and J.T.
