Cambridge, MA - Formerly of Fallsburg, NY
Bonnie Hoffberg, a resident of Cambridge, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her children on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was 68 and too young. Bonnie was born on December 24, 1955, in Ellenville, New York, the daughter of Harold and Joan Ornitz Hoffberg.
Bonnie loved life, people, and animals. She devoted her life to her children and those she cared for deeply in her work, as a counselor and an advocate for people with physical and mental disabilities, and as a restaurant server. She was strongly independent and didn't let anything get in her way. Even after she became disabled herself, she wanted to return to her work with the people she cared for. She had the biggest heart and always made sure others were taken care of before herself. Throughout the challenges she faced, her resilience was unstoppable and driven by the love she had for others. She was passionate about building a community and expressing herself through peace, love, and happiness.
Bonnie is survived by Jacklyn Moreno and Akshat Srivastava of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Luis Mejias and Paul Flores of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Temple Sholom Cemetery, South Woods Road, Monticello, NY 12701.
Memorial contributions in Bonnie's name may be made to the ASPCA.
Arrangements are honorably entrusted to the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home - 845-794-7474 or www.josephngarlickfuneralhome.com.
