Leon "Bud" Ray Buker, 80, of Stockville, Nebraska, died May 19, 2024 at his home in Stockville, Nebraska.

Bud was born April 29, 1944 in Orafino, NE, son of Jay D. and Lillian (Hilkey) Buker.

Bud was a member of the Frontier County Fair Board for seven years, Arbor Cemetery Board and a member of the Stockville Town Board for six years. He married Janice Hubbell on August 11, 1968 and to this union three daughters were born. Bud later married Nicola (Arent) Lynch on February 29, 2000. Bud farmed and ranched in Frontier County his entire life except for a short time when he lived and worked in the Stapleton area. He proudly raised Charolais cattle. His favorite activity was to jump in the old green pickup and check cows-even when they didn't need checked. 

Survivors include wife, Nicola M. Buker of Stockville, NE; three daughters, Brenda (Rick) Petersen, Deondra (Ed) Lashley; Nikki Leah (James Strobel) Martin, three grandsons, Logan Brown (Breanna Burnett), Mason Lashley, Grady (Jane) Lashley; seven granddaughters, Emma (Cain) Reichenberg, Raynea (Ed) Rivera, Danielle Roberts, Cassie Jurgens, Shayna Buker, Kaitlin Lynch, Cyleigh Martin; 14 great grandchildren; two step-sons, Kyle (Elizabeth) Lynch, Kory (Regina) Lynch; brother, Jesse (Danette) Buker of Commerce, TX; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Leon was preceded in death by parents Jay D. and Lillian Buker, sister, Esther Buker, sister, Carol Wright.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 315 Center Ave, Curtis, Nebraska; Thursday, May 23, 2024, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Services will be held at Stockville Congregational Church, May 24, 2024 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Kort Kemp officiating.  

Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Stockville Congregational Church, Arbor Cemetery or a Humane Society of your choice.
