Bud Polley Obituary

Polley, Buddy R. "Bud" age 77 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away at home Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Born July 6, 1947 in Maysville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late and longtime Tipp resident, Claude Polley. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 52 years; Sonja {Goedhart} Polley, daughter; Tina (Jeff) Vollmer of Tipp City, sister; Jean (Ed) Perry of St. Petersburg, Florida. Also surviving are grandchildren; Michael Poling, Lauren Poling, Jonathan (Chelle) Vollmer and Jordan Vollmer and great grandchildren; Krimson Lewis, Wilder Winsett, James and Ruby Vollmer.
Bud was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School Class of 1966. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. A passionate entrepreneur at heart, Bud opened the Carpet Loft in 1974 with his brother-in-law, Ed. In 1982, along with his wife Sonja, he founded Bud Polley's Floor Center in Tipp City, a business that continues family owned and operated today. Bud enjoyed boating, fishing, and relaxing on or near the water with his family during summers at Norris Lake in Tennessee and winters at Manasota Key in Florida. Bud was a wonderful, dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His generosity, common sense, and unique sense of humor with everyday life made each day with him a joy. Bud will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until time of memorial service at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
