Calan Gengler, age 13, of Big Stone City, SD passed away on February 16, 2024, in Milbank, SD.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Central Church in Milbank. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Calan Edward Gengler was born on October 25, 2010, in Ortonville, MN. He was the son of Matthew and Glenda “Joy” (Holt) Gengler. Calan grew up in the Big Stone City area and attended school in Milbank. He was currently a seventh grader.

Calan was an intelligent young man and very good at mathematics.  He loved to read and usually read a book everyday! He enjoyed online gaming. He played baseball during the summer and had a great group of dear friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Matthew Gengler of Big Stone City, SD; Joy Gengler of Milbank, SD; brother, Byron Gengler of Big Stone City, SD; sisters: Peyton Gengler and Rhylei Gengler, both of Big Stone City, SD; paternal grandparents: Alan and Brenda Gengler of Big Stone City, SD; uncle, Adam Gengler of Watertown, SD.

 Calan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Clifford “Shorty” and Sumi Holt.
