Carol Ann Smith-Beck, 84, passed away on September 12, 2024, in College Station, Texas. Born on February 8, 1940, Carol dedicated much of her life to her family and her career, touching the lives of many with her resilience and caring personality.
Carol graduated from Newton High School and later served as an Administrative Assistant at Iowa State University, a role she held with dedication and pride until her retirement in 1998. Throughout her life, Carol faced many challenges, including a courageous battle against breast cancer, which she defeated, further showcasing her strength and determination.
An enthusiastic game show aficionado, Carol could often be found matching wits with television contestants, a testament to her sharp mind and quick wit. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, and engaging in trivia, which brought much joy to her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Beck; sons Doug Beck and David Beck; daughters-in-law Julie Beck and Rebecca Beck; brother Robert Smith; and grandchildren Tyler, Austin, Lauren, and Ryan Beck. Carol's legacy of love, strength, and perseverance continues to live on through them.
While no memorial service is planned at this time, those wishing to honor her memory can make contributions to Breast Cancer Research Foundation at https://www.bcrf.org/, a cause she held dear. Carol will forever be cherished and remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
