Carol Burriss Obituary

Carol Myers Burriss passed peacefully on October 23, 2024, in Murfreesboro, TN. She went on to her heavenly reward with family and friends by her side. Carol was born in Decatur, Indiana, on December 11, 1941, to the late George and Wilma Josephine Myers.
Carol graduated from Ohio University, and later, Belmont School of Nursing. She enjoyed spending time with her Bible and attending church at White Horse Christian Center in West Lafayette, IN, and World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Her passion for Israel was evident to all who knew her. Carol took countless trips to the Promise Land, dedicating time and resources to Volunteers for Israel. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. She also enjoyed swimming, art, and reading scripture.
She is survived by one son, Justin (Jamie) Burriss of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Ann Hileman of Rockford, OH; sister, Karen Jean Myers of Van Wert, OH; brother, Stanley (Ann) Myers of Grand Rapids, MI; niece, Debbie (Jay) Julow, of Farmington Hills, MI; niece, Janice (Michael) Stephenson of Fort Wayne, IN; nephew, John Hileman of Celina, OH; nephew, Rick Hileman of Battle Creek, MI; nephew, Jim (Elena) Hileman of Washington, DC; niece, Alessandra Myers of Berlin, Germany; nephew, Gabriel Myers of Rockford, MI; nephew, Audun (Madelyn) Myers of Grand Rapids, MI; and grandchildren, Sophia and Pippa Burriss of Murfreesboro, TN.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Josephine Myers, and father, George Engle Myers.
Visitation will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29th from 11am to 2pm.
Funeral services will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29th at 2pm with Monica Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery located at Hwy 269, Christiana, TN.
